Occupation — Former federal prosecutor at U.S. Attorney’s Office in Syracuse. Worked in Washington for several years with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, and Narcotic & Dangerous Drug Section. As federal prosecutor, he prosecuted local corruption, illegal drug, gang violence and fraud cases, according to his website.
Education — B.A. Niagara University; J.D. Syracuse University School of Law
Family — Wife, Robin; three sons, Sean, Logan and Liam.
Issues — Katko told Syracuse.com that he wants to focus his campaign on jobs and the economy, including the economic impact of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, on the Central New York region.
Community Involvement — Katko and his family are parishioners of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, and Katko has been involved in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Onondaga County Foster Parent program and has coached hockey for fifteen years as part of the Camillus Youth Hockey Association, according to his website.
