Democracywise is an award-winning news Web site to help more people — not just political junkies — engage in politics and public affairs.
It is a project of Charlotte Grimes, the Knight Chair in Political Reporting at the Newhouse School/Syracuse University. Democracywise offers basic knowledge and information for everyone to participate in democracy — everything from stories about issues to a database of candidates and races. The stories are from political reporting students at the Newhouse School.
In 2010, Democracywise, was recognized for its service to the community when it received an Chancellor’s Award for Public Engagement and Scholarship. It was described as “”a Web-based news outlet and voter resource that produces relevant and engaging coverage of elections and public issues.”
