Biography
On June 26, 2012, Turner lost the GOP primary with 1,233 votes in CNY, compared to 340 votes for George Maragos and 5,715 for the winner, Wendy Long. Long will be the Republican challenger to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) in the general election on Nov. 6, 2012.Turner won a 2011 special election to replace Anthony Weiner when he resigned from his position. Facing redistricting for the 2012 election, Turner decided to instead enter the Republican primary for a chance to take on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in November.
