On May 4, 2013, David Cecile won the Syracuse Democratic Committee’s designation for one of three seats on the Syracuse School District board of commissioners.
Biography
Occupation: David Cecile retired as principal of Henninger High School in June after 36 years as an educator.
Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Education and a Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Ohio State University.
Family: Married to Pamela Cecile with four adult children: Jason, James, Sarah and Julie; and three grandchildren: Annabella, Elsie and Tressel.
Community Involvement: Member of the 11th Ward Democratic Committee, Volunteer for The Most Holy Rosary Church food pantry, Member of the Henninger PTO and Member of the Fowler Athletic Boosters Club.
Past Political Experience
Currently an 11th Ward Committee Member. David Cecile participated in the elections of current Judge James Cecile, Judge Julie Cecile and past Common Councilor and Commissioner of Education Bob Cecile.
Top Three issues for 2013
“We need to develop a district wide discipline policy that is supported and enforced in each school building and at the district level to maintain safe and orderly learning environments for students and teachers,” Cecile said. ” We need to provide appropriate staffing levels, including Police Officers in all middle and high schools buildings in order for Principals to administer successful schools. We need to develop a variety of academic programs to meet the needs of all students including technical and vocational training, gifted and talented, parenting and disciplinary programs.”
