*On Nov. 6, 2012, John Sharon lost his bid for election with 33 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Onondaga County Board of Elections. In 2010, he also lost to Democrat Sam Roberts.

Education — BA in English, Elmira College; J.D, Syracuse University College of Law

Family— Wife Mary Barbara, three children: Rory, Rebecca and Brendan
