[In New Hampshire, presidential candidates are arriving from Iowa following last night’s caucuses. Senator Hillary Clinton finished a close third in Iowa, and she arrived in New Hampshire this morning looking for victory. WATD’s Primary 2008 Reporter Shelly Schwartz tells us how Clinton is looking for more support among New Hampshire voters.]

At a welcome rally next to the Nashua airport this morning, former president Bill Clinton spoke to supporters before introducing his wife, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. He says she kept her head held high despite the defeat in last night’s Iowa caucuses.

[“I was never more proud of Hillary in all the days we’ve been together and all the days of this campaign than when she gave the speech in Iowa last night.” Bill Clinton]

For her part, Hillary Clinton did not address her loss to Senator Barack Obama and Senator John Edwards in her speech this morning. Instead, she targeted the shortcomings of the Bush administration and spoke of her presidency.

[“It took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush, and I think it may take another one to clean up after the second Bush.” Senator Hillary Clinton]

Clinton supporter Nancy Richards-Stower agrees. She says putting another Clinton in office is appealing.

[“Buy one, get one free. It’s true.  And while Hillary will be the president, she will have an ambassador around the world, her husband!” Nancy Richards-Stower of Merrimack, New Hampshire]

Michael Bates of Hollis, New Hampshire, attended the welcome rally this morning. He says Clinton just needs to do one thing to attract voters.

[“Just be herself. She’s got a great track record, good experience. She knows the system. She’s a likeable person.” Michael Bates of Hollis, New Hampshire.]

Clinton has just five days to rally her support in New Hampshire before the primary January 8th.
