CONCORD, N.H. (Jan.8) — Voters are heading to cast their ballots today in New Hampshire.  Richard Zussman tells us that Mike Huckabee’s Arkansas experience has prepared him for tonight and onwards.

Mike Huckabee is spending his last day in New Hampshire getting out the vote.  He’s traveling across the state shaking hands and making a last-minute pitch to voters.  But he says the process is easier because of his experience campaigning in Arkansas.

[“The biggest preparation is that Arkansas politics is total retail.  It’s getting out looking voters in the face, talking to them, connecting with them.  I love New Hampshire politics because of that.  It is very retail.” Huckabee]

Huckabee has done his share of connecting with people.  In some polls, he has moved from 6th to 3rd in the New Hampshire over the past few weeks because of the connections he is making with people.  And he also attributes his success to his campaign base in Arkansas.

[“It’s exciting to us to know the heart of the campaign is right there in Arkansas. We wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the people of Arkansas who believed in us early and formed really all the support we had in the early months.” Huckabee]

Huckabee will await the results of the primary tonight in Manchester, New Hampshire.  Huckabee will be on his way to South Carolina tomorrow.  The Primary there is on January 19th.

For FM 89 News, I’m Richard Zussman in Dover, New Hampshire.
