Dale Sweetland looks to gain a few pounds during Tuesday’s election and the final minutes before it.
“On Tuesday, he’ll start his day at the Dunbar breakfast in Syracuse at 7:30 a.m. He’ll make his way to the spaghetti supper at Our Lady of Pompei. He then has a turkey dinner to go to. At night he’ll be at the Doubletree Inn to hear the results,” said Sweetland’s campaign manager Travis Glazier.
Sweetland, a Republican, is running against Democrat Dan Maffei and Green Populist candidate Howie Hawkins in the race to succeed retiring incumbent Jim Walsh in the 25th District Congressional race. Sweetland will appear at the Syracuse Regional Market between 8-10a.m. on Saturday. His campaign is teaming up with the Onondaga County Republicans to host a rally for Republican Presidential candidate John McCain, who faces Democrat Barack Obama. The rally will be held at Drivers Village in Syracuse.
On Sunday, after a pancake breakfast at Knights of Columbus and a Skaneateles Republican Committee Brunch, Sweetland will campaign door-to-door.
“We’ll be blitzing all over the district, knocking on doors and phone banking. We’ll be knocking on doors and dropping off pamphlets between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. People generally don’t like it when you knock after dark,” said campaign manager Glazier.
