*On Nov. 20, Richard Hanna won his bid for election with 61 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from across the 22nd Congressional District.

Occupation —U.S. Representative from the 22nd Congressional District; owner and president, Hanna Construction;  partner, Gabriel Group, LLC

Education — bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, Reed College (1976);

Family — wife Kim, a registered nurse, and two children

Community Involvement— Member of the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce; Founder, Annie’s Fund, which gives women grants to help them through critical points in their life; board member, Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties (1994-2004); past board member of the Otsego County Industrial Development Agency and the Utica Zoological Society; current board member of the Utica Public Library and the Resource Center for Independent Living Foundation.

District Description

On April 24, the 24th Congressional District became the 22nd Congressional District. The newly drawn 22nd Congressional District includes all of Oneida, Cortland, Chenango and Madison counties, and parts of Oswego, Broome, Tioga and Herkimer counties. (Madison and Oswego counties were previously in the 23rd District.)
